Florent AMODIO
Okay. I love the way GOD gives us "opps" to see talent and truly appreciate it. Again the converter box comes into play and this time it wasn't anything asian. This time it was the sports channel. Yes. I may not be a sports fan. You know football and all that. But I do like to see a good ice skater with pizzazz!Yes. I have to admit I got caught up in the Evan Lysacek - Johnny Weir battle. For the record I do like them both but Johnny is a bit "out there". I've chosen not to judge, and sometimes I do think he is a bit much. But what the hell. As long as no one's being harmed or killed in the process than I'm alright with it!
I love the way I stray from a topic then somehow veer right back. We've had the noteworthy Ice skaters such as Brian Orser, Scott Hamilton. Brian Boitano and the latest one that had caught my eye Daisuke Takahashi..He's my tangent back to my asian theme because when I saw him skate I was just mesmorized. He was truly a sight to behold. And plus his smile was gleamimg porcelain.
Now there's an incredible new talent that has just "Blown me away". His name! FLORENT AMODIO. GOD popped him on to my tv and I was just caught like a deer in headlights when I saw him skate. . He skated to the tunes of "Black eyed Peas", Taio Cruz, Lisa Gerard and of course the great Michael Jackson.
The routine I saw was sheer genius. His 20 year old soul was in full swing He commanded the ice and the routine, and when Michael Jackson came on his soulful "SWIGSWAG" was exposed. He pulled the audience in! He Enthralled. He leaped. He lunged. He gyrated. He grooved! He was the equivalent of a flowing fluid sexy ice sculpture! And knowing that he had done an excellent routine not only translated into the scores,. It was apparent by the hug he exchanged with his coach that this had been something they had both worked hard for!

Well now a new talent has come my way and again it was to my eyes an accidental siting. But in GOD'S eyes obviously intentional!

Wheesung - I Am Missing You
I NEVER MISS ME SOME WHEESUNG!!
Through various spots I've introduced Wheesung. But on this tune he again showcases a dynamic range.
Beautiful riffs and runs are accentuated with soulful jabs that touch the heart and nourish the soul. When Wheesung wails "I'm missing you". Well.... you feel it. You relate to it. You ache for him. Vocals of course should and can be beautiful. But singing should also tell a story. Evoke an emotional opinion. On the lighter side you should just be able to have a glass of wine and just sit back and enjoy the emotional ride.

Wheesung - Ahn Dwe Na Yo
I SUNG. THEY SUNG. WHEESUNG!
Now I remember this as one of my wonderful musical memories. This artist is a young man by the name of WHEESUNG. who loves R & B Music. And worked on his skills to be one of the best artists in his field. Now for me the magic started when I first heard this song on one of my many Korean music shows. I was immediately stunned because the tone of his voice in my opinion matched that of the great Miss Anita Baker. I was blown away by the similarity. This coming from the vocal cords of " a very asian man ".
After hearing this I immediately searched for all of his tunes to make sure this wasn't just a creative fluke, and I was amazed and delighted to find a a playlist of top notch outstanding R & B repertoire.
Not only could this man emanate a divine Anita Baker. This man was just pure R & B magic!
As I've said before. No. I don't speak Korean. But I FEEL something. I truly feel that with an open heart music can bring the world together. Yet I live in a real world. Everyone is not open to new things. New Flavors. New scents. New ideas. That's okay. I'm open to not having to deal with those type of people as they are me.
Wheesung is a treasure. Here in the states he's a hidden treasure. In asian cultures he's an artist. Well. . He's an artist to me. And believe me he's no longer hidden!

To Be Continued by Click-B
DEFINITELY TO BE CONTINUED!!!
Smooth gentle, beautiful tones fill this song with "citrus soul" and soulful riffs. All you can do is sit back with a glass of wine and lounge. Just melting in the the fluidity of the tune. The vid is nice and subdued. Nothing flashy. The lead vocals are intertwined effortlessly. And the acoustic guitar leading up to a 70's soul jaunt is blended with finese. If you were slow dancing to this you'd fall in love. If you were a baby you would be lulled to sleep in a loving manner. All this on top of an unobtrusive rap just leads to a top notch soulful production.
And of course the make up artist vain part of me has to have a voice. It's so nice to see a lush head of beautiful flowing hair. Knowing that it's not a weave. "Just sayin'!

GRATEFUL OR GRATING
Why is it that the new generation of youth have no respect or diplomacy for people that do them favors or give them chances that they might not ordinarily get? If you could be out on the street and someone offers you a place to stay and a place to rest your head. Then why would you have attitude when being asked to take out the trash? Why would you be upset if someone asks you to clean the bathroom? These are minor things that I wouldn't bat an eye over. In fact. I would make it my mission to do these things without being asked. Especially if I had no job. And wasn't contributing to the household? Are these people crazy? Where the hell does this entitlement come from? My mindset just can't relate to this. Where was this behavior learned?
Does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture?
And the one question that bugs me to no end when someone has no money and no job is when they, with a smile and a gleam in their eye ask: Can I hold a dollar? And this is more than once or twice a week! The response should be: B***h! Can you hold a job?
On another note. My niece is making tacos today. I love her very much. I'm going to stop at the store and buy some sodas so I don't walk in emptyhanded. Why? because that's what a grateful person does . No one had to ask me. To me that's just common sense. So I'll finish up this topic later. But baby! I'm going to eat me some tacos and forget about ungrateful people for a minute. And No. I'm not going to ask my niece: Can I hold a taco? lol.

KANSAS CITY BOMBER
Damn! This was one of my favoritte movies back in the day! Wow. I remember Julie "Ace" Patrick. Shirley Hardman. Ronnie Raines. And all those roller derby people that just made my world complete. So when they decided to make a movie about it I was in 7th heaven.
The icing on the cake: RAQUEL WELCH in the lead.
A lot of people don't remember this but Raquel was nomintaed for an Oscar as Best Actress And if I remember correctly, it was well deserved. And another nugget of trivia. Raquel's daughter was played by 2 time Oscar winner Jodie Foster.
I need to see it again to see if it's held up through the years. But as of now I have nothing but fond and good memories of it.
The one thing that sticks in my mind! THE MATCH RACE!

"NOW HE'S REALLY LIVIN' LA VIDA LOCA"!!!
I have to say that I am very proud and happy that Ricky Martin has come out. Due to his celebrity, spirit and fame, his openness will help others be a bit more accepted. But beyond that let's be honest. The fact that he's handsome and doesn't act effeminate is definitely a positive afterthought. We've had other people come out Elton John, George Michael , Lance Bass. Elton though talented is not very good looking by standard beauty polls. No matter how great he plays the piano , we wll always be examining his new hairline every year. George Michael was branded a pervert. One who stalked bathrooms. Though nothing was proven the stigma is still attached. Lance Bass there is a slight difference. He's cute. Ex Boy bander. His only crime was being a teen idol who hid his sexuality from his female fans whilst dealing with females on the road.
But now we have Ricly. Ricky just finally got tired of hiding. His love for his children and not being a hypocrite led to his admittance. Plus he finally felt comfortable in his own shoes.
The one theme that always ran true with Mr. Martin though was the fact that he NEVER denied it. He went around the topic. Ducked it. Or changed the subject. But he NEVER LIED. Unlike Clay Aikens. Something like this lends to one's crediblilty and honor.Coming out is a personal and sometimes painful decision. But it's just that: PERSONAL. Now it is not my job on this earth to try and change nor alter anyone's opinions. All I can do is offer how I feel then move on.
I'm one of those that feels that things are slowly getting better. But still there are those who will bully and be mean because they either just refuse to be tolerant or understand, or they themselves are gay and are genuinely upset that some gay people can just be happy, productive and just beautiful being who they are.
Back to the point! Ricky will have an impact. He's handsome. He's talented. He's a humanitarian. He has 2 beautiful sweet children. And besides just being a private person and not opening up his life to the world. He has no scandels.
I can't deny it. Ricky is hot!! And believe me we hate to think of vanity as a factor, but it is. I know personally that if someone in my opinion is cute or handsome, then they will get that extra 10 minutes. Where as some one not as attractive may not. But don't get me wrong. There are exceptions to every rule. And personality and charm can always transform the some what physically challenged to a status of unquestionable beauty.
Ricky. I thank and applaud you. And kiss those 2 beautiful boys for me. I wish you and your family a long and prosperous life.

SEE. THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE WHO FEEL THE SAME WAY I DO ABOUT KOREAN MUSIC
The story below by: EVAN RAMSTAD
ABSOLUTELY PRETTY IN BLACK |
Can’t Nobody Audition?
Actually Everybody Is
The Korean Wave is washing back. For much of the past 10 years, South Korea’s entertainment producers – makers of movies, TV dramas and pop music – have experienced surging interest in their products, especially in Asia. It’s a trend known locally as “hallyu,” or the Korean Wave.
Now, there’s new evidence of the wave’s effect.
The show “Star Audition” that will start next month on MBC – kind of a Korean version of “Britain’s Got Talent” or “America’s Got Talent” – is taking auditions via videos that people are posting on YouTube.
And a surprising number of the videos are from people in other countries who are singing Korean songs in hopes of being invited on to the show. (Prediction: this is going to be a big story in the Korean media in coming weeks)
Auditions have been sent in from the U.S., U.K., Portugal, Germany, Norway and other places.
One hopeful, Sakurako McGinty of Houston, Texas, said she decided to make a video because she mainly listens to Korean and Japanese pop.
Her responses to questions sent by email:
Why did you decide to make a video for Star Audition?
Most of the music I listen to is either Korean or Japanese. I started out singing in Japanese when i was 14 and it stuck with me. I even performed some popular songs at high school talent shows. But no one really understood my talent for knowing songs of another language. I would often get looked at as the weird girl who sings in languages no one understands (but that sound pretty). When I finally started listening to K-pop, it stuck to me like glue and the more I listened to their music and the Japanese rock music I realized I should continue to sing even if it’s so different. It’s good to sing and create my own new style of music. Yet still in the back of mind I always thought would I just become the weird girl with the talent no one gets.
How did you hear about the show?
I am always up late at night searching for something online. I didn’t really know what I was looking for but something said to keep looking. And I saw a video on YouTube that said “MBC Star Audition: You can be the next K-POP Idol.” And I watched the video and I cried so hard because I couldn’t believe it. Someone was actually giving a chance to people like me who know the songs and sing or rap well. I prayed for this sort of contest so much. And it was right in front of me!
When did you become a fan of Korean music and what are your favorite groups or singers?
When I first started listening to Korean music I only knew of a few groups and singers like Super Junior, SNSD (Girls’ Generation), 2PM, DBSK (Dong Bang Sin Ki) and Big Bang. My favorites are 2NE1, Super Junior, Big Bang, and 2PM. I love listening to them but I always wanted to sing with them more than just listen.

JUNG YEOP
WITHOUT YOU
This hauntingly beautiful melody led by the hypnotic sounds of the piano moves the heart to a place of deep and subtle contemplation.
This song is like finding that one beautiful stone on the beach that catches your eye and stays embedded in your mind.
The melody is enchanting and the falsetto is passionate and inviting.
JUNG YEOP IS ALSO A MEMBER OF "BROWN EYED SOUL" |
"LOVE MY GLEE"
I find it so fascinating that parents got upset when they saw this mag and the accompanying photoshoot!! These
But I do have to admit that back in the day I would go to the barber shop where they had Playboy Mags prominently displayed. I would craftily snag one and sneak into the bathroom. Not to masturbate. I just wanted to see naked people.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that if a kid wants to see something. They will find a way to see it.
Then again. Why is it that when we become adults we forget how we were when we were young?
Yes. I was an angel when I was young. But I wanted to see other angels naked. lol.
