Damn! This was one of my favoritte movies back in the day! Wow. I remember Julie "Ace" Patrick. Shirley Hardman. Ronnie Raines. And all those roller derby people that just made my world complete.So when they decided to make a movie about it I was in 7th heaven.
The icing on the cake: RAQUEL WELCH in the lead.
A lot of people don't remember this but Raquel was nomintaed for an Oscar as Best Actress And if I remember correctly, it was well deserved. And another nugget of trivia. Raquel's daughter was played by 2 time Oscar winner Jodie Foster.
I need to see it again to see if it's held up through the years. But as of now I have nothing but fond and good memories of it.
The one thing that sticks in my mind! THE MATCH RACE!
